5 Great Cardio Exercises

A good cardio workout can come in many forms. That is what’s awesome about it: you don’t have to go to the gym and you can enjoy a great cardio workout with your friends.

1. For The Busy Bee

A great and quick workout that doesn’t take up too much time, why not go for a jog around your neighborhood. This is great because you can also personalize it: walking, jogging, and/or running. If you’re walking to lose weight, though, the key is to keep your heart rate elevated for at least a half an hour.

2. At The Gym

There are so many machines that can aid you in a good cardio workout: the treadmill, the elliptical, the stationary bike, etc. Those are the staples though. When you try those machines, make sure that you don’t bounce (it’ll be easier on your joints), use fluid motions, and remember that you can adjust the seat of the stationary bike.

3. For The Social Butterflies

Take a Zumba or a dance class. Dancing is a fun way to get a cardio workout. Depending on what kind of class you take, it can be a wonderful total body workout and you’ll learn some cool dance moves to boot.

4. Bust Out the Water-Wings

Swimming is a great workout! During the winter, swimming is a great way to help you stay fit and it will help with cabin fever. Not only that but you can jump in the hot tub after.

5. Something A Little Different

Try a martial arts class. There are many different disciplines: karate, Muay Thai, Jujutsu, Aikido, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kendo (my personal favorite), Taekwondo, and even Krav Maga. While you exercise, you will also be learning lessons on discipline and self defense.
