5 Ways to Stay Hydrated During Winter

When it’s cold, the only thing you want is something warm like hot chocolate or coffee. At least that’s the way I feel. However, it’s hard to stay hydrated when the only thing you want to drink is coffee. However, drinking plain ol’ water isn’t the only way that you can stay hydrated.

Not only that but it’s easy to overlook “being dehydrated” in the winter because we’re not sweating up a storm. But you’re just as likely to get dehydrated in the winter as you are in the summer, simply because we don’t feel like drinking water. So do yourself a favor and check out some of these tips to keep you hydrated when it’s cold outside.

1. Fruits and Veggies

Fruits and veggies are packed with water (in addition to all of those wonderful nutrients).

2. Tea

Tea is almost all water. That’s all it is: flavored water (that’s also packed with nutrients).

3. Drink a glass of water before you have a meal
Not only will it help make you feel fuller faster, but it is a good habit. Doing this will provide you with at least three glasses ever day (three of your eight required glasses) and that’s not even counting the water you drink during your meal.

4. Exercise

Drink a glass of water before you exercise and a glass of water after you exercise to ensure that you’re properly hydrated during and after you workout.

5. Coffee

Yes, coffee is considered a diuretic (it makes you want to pee) but it is still made with water and if you moderate your intake, you should be okay. So take a nice, brisk walk to your nearest coffee shop and grab a small cup.
