What Does Dating Mean to You?

Dating means different things to different people and (for the most part) the definition changes depending on the generation. While dating (or “going steady”) may have meant something to your mother, it might mean something completely different to you.

If you are dating a man does that mean that you’re exclusively seeing each other or is it appropriate to date more than one person until you put the “boyfriend” sticker on him? And when does that transition occur?

The important thing to remember when it comes to dating someone is that you are both on the same page. “Dating” to you may mean exclusively seeing him while “dating” to him may mean that he’s still seeing other people. Definitions can be tricky like that, so make sure that you know what it means to the both of you before someone gets their heart broken.
